The latest project from The International Staff Band of The Salvation Army (ISB) shows undeniably, the musical quality of this world-renowned ensemble but also the reason behind their music making.
Starting with Staff Bandmaster Dr Stephen Cobb's initial seed of an idea to feature music composed by former members of the band, the concept fanned out into a fully realised programme featuring music by former and current members and closely linked friends.
With major works from both Leslie Condon and Peter Graham and other wonderful pieces form the pens of Paul Sharman, Kevin Larsson and Ray Steadman-Allen - you start to understand what this album is all about.
This is an absolute treat of a listen and a wonderful showcase for the current ISB members.
